Kuala Lumpur is the capital city of Malaysia and it is famous for the presence of a large number of shopping centers, so it is considered one of the most important tourist places in Malaysia, and foreign tourists call it a shopping paradise in Asia. It is necessary to visit the twin towers and shopping centers while you are in Kuala Lumpur.


Kuala Lumpur contains KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) and is 45 kilometres from the center of Kuala Lumpur, also Kuala Lumpur is just 15 kilometres from Selangor.


The most known places for foreign tourists in Kuala Lumpur are Al-Arab Street and the Twin Towers where tourists can enjoy shopping, music events and great restaurants.

Top attractions are Twin Towers, The Aquarium, Birds park, Batu caves, the National Animal Zoo, Chinatown and the Arab street. First attraction — Twin Towers KLCC

Malaysia is considered a country where different cultures and races blended with civilization, development and charming nature and here we will start with the face of Malaysia or in other words, the most well-known landmark of Malaysia that is the Petronas Twin Towers also called locally as KLCC. Thus, the Twin Towers are considered the symbol of Malaysia and the tallest skyscraper in it and it was the tallest skyscraper in the world from 1988 to 2004, two giant construction companies competed in the construction and building of the towers: the Japanese Hazama Ando Corporation and was responsible for the first tower, and the Korean company Samsung for the second tower. It consists of 88 floors and the owner of the design idea was Fazalur Rahman Khan, an architect who focused on tall buildings and skyscrapers.




 

Second attraction — Batu Caves

Hills of limestone and a series of ancient caves, and one of the most famous Hindu shrines outside India where the famous Hindu Thaipusam Festival is held every year in Malaysia. Moreover, Thaipusam is a Hindu festival celebrated mostly by the Tamil people on the full moon in January or February. It is mainly observed in Malaysia because there is a significant presence of Tamil community. The word Thaipusam is a combination of the name of the month, Thai, and the name of a star, Pusam.



 

Third attraction — Aquaria KLCC

An oceanic fish aquarium that collects about 250 species of sea creatures from various oceans and covers an area of ​​approximately 60,000 square feet. Aquaria KLCC is based on the journey of water from the land to the sea. As stated in Wikipedia website the Aquaria KLCC is considered as the journey starts in the misty highlands, down through rivers, through the rainforest and mangroves to the coral reefs into the deep blue sea. There is a large food-court just outside the aquarium with lots of choices of food to eat.



 

Fourth attraction — KL Bird Park

It receives about 200 thousand tourists every year and is distinguished by the diverse number of birds that number 3000 birds, 90% of which are local and 10% imported from abroad. A world full of spectacular birds and a tropical paradise not to be missed by all. You can see bird shows and even feeding sessions for eagles, hornbills and ostriches.



 

Fifth attraction — Zoo Negara the National Animal Zoo

An ancient zoo since 1936 and has approximately 5,137 animals of 476 different species. There are many exhibits you can enjoy while being there that are Reptile Park (largest tortoises, pythons and venomous snakes, different kinds of crocodiles and frogs), Monkey/Lesser Apes, Giant Panda Conservation Centre, Malaysian Elephants, Lake Birds, Bird Aviary (here you can enjoy the view and direct contact with flying birds), Bear Complex, Cat Walk (to see big cats like lions, cheetahs, tigers and leopards), Insect Zoo (to see unique collections of insects such as butterflies, scorpions, mantises and many other insects), and Nile Hippopotamus.



 

Sixth attraction — China Town

It is a place that you can find everywhere in the world that exhibits a part of China. Here you can enjoy local food and very low price and cheap shopping. First you may start your tour in ChinaTown from Petaling Street where you can see shops selling fake designer goods if you on a tight budget or looking for cheap and cheerful branded goods also a perfect place to buy gifts. Central Market would be your next destination after you finished some shopping in Petaling Street, here you may find traditional goods and handicrafts fashioned by skilled artisans. There are many temples there such as Sin Sze Si Ya, Kuan Ti, Chan See Shu Yuen, Kuan Yin, and Sri Mahamariamman. Next would be the Malaysia Heritage Walk, here you can enjoy cultural performances that are held in specific occasions, local malay or indian or chinese food, and low price goods. The last one would be the Annexe Gallery where art exhibitions and fashion shows are held.



 

Seventh attraction — Arab Street

It is a favorite destination for Arab tourists, with an abundance of Arab restaurants and a great place to shop where the most famous international brands are located. While you walk there you will enjoy the street performance by many local people.



 

As someone who once lived a couple of years in Kuala Lumpur, I would say that it is definitely an astonishing place to live in. The people here are welcoming and kind, the food is super delicious, and the city is considered modern and clean. As the largest city and Malaysia most important commercial center, it is located in the Klang Valley, and its name means the ’the meeting of two rivers’.
